Iranian ‘The Statue’ wins at the US fest

Iranian ‘The Statue’ has won the Best Animated Short Award at the eighth edition of the Snowtown Film Festival in the US.

‘The Statue’, directed by Mohsen Salehi Fard, is about a sculptor who has difficulty with making his statues.

The animation has previously participated in several international film festivals, including the Chania Film Festival in Greece, the Gbeck Future Film Festival in Canada, and the Earl’s Court International Film Festival in the UK.

Snowtown Film Festival is annually held in historic downtown watertown, NY. The festival aims to celebrate filmmaking and mostly selects films that emphasize winter.

The 2022 edition of the festival was held on March 16-20.
